This was prescribed for my dog who was diagnosed with diabetes as a means of controlling his weight and carbohydrate intake. Looking at the ingredient list showed lots of healthy, high fibre ingredients (things like whole grain corn, soybean hulls, soybean germ meal, pea fibre, etc.) all of which sounds good for the purpose of controlling carbs, but I was worried it might taste like cardboard to my boy (almost always a necessary tradeoff I know).
However, I was pleasantly surprised as he seems to like it and gives very little trouble to eat it (MUCH less than I thought, since he is a VERY fussy eater even with his normal food prior to his diabetes diagnosis).
So if your vet prescribes this food for your dog, don’t be quick to judge its healthy ingredients and think the food will be too bland for them. Of course I’d still suggest you buy the smaller bag first to give it a try (which I did), but I was pleasantly surprised when he liked it.

A bit expensive, but it’s a specialty food recommended by my vet for a dog with severe diabetes. It helps to limit his blood glucose spiking and maintain a healthy weight – both critical items for his condition.
